Hey, what’s up? Thank you for showing interest in my work and wanting to know more about me as an artist. My name is Zullette, family and friends call me Zu. There are a few things to know about me before we dive into the artsy details.

-I am originally from North Philadelphia. Grew up in Rochester, NY.

-I am Puerto Rican. You’ll see lots of art dedicated to the culture. I’ve made it my mission to stay connected to my heritage on purpose.

-I am a mother and a wife. There will be work dedicated to motherhood and parenthood.

-I am a retired therapist. Yes, I am still so young lol but I decided to dedicate my time to motherhood. I have a masters degree in art therapy and a bachelors in fine arts.

-I own a restaurant with my family. Check out Steak N Fries when you are in San Diego. 1039 Garnet Ave San Diego, CA 92109.

Now here’s what you really want to know:

I am a printmaker. My favorite forms of printmaking are etching, cardigraphy and screen printing. Yes, I just love a long creating process. Printmaking has taught me self discipline, my potential and patience. It is my therapy, it is essential to my well-being. I fell in love with printmaking in college and grad school, I just can’t let go. There's just something about the gritty feel I'm able to obtain in my work in the etching and cartography processes. I also love how playful and flexible screen-printing is.

I create art to reflect the beauty and struggles of my environment and culture. My influences and inspirations come from personal experiences and stories I often hear in my community. I am moved by my culture and heritage; my work stems from the places I have lived and continuously renew myself in.

I hope my work moves you and brings you peace and balance. Thank you for taking time out to get to know me and showing support.

Love, Zu
